Application description

The blast valve is a thin-walled valve body on the battery seal plate. When the internal pressure of the battery exceeds the specified value, the explosion-proof valve body breaks to prevent the battery from bursting. The figure shows the appearance of two common explosion-proof valves. Explosion-proof valves are cleverly constructed, many of which are patented by battery manufacturers, but the basic principle is mainly laser welding of two solid aluminum plates of a specific shape. When the internal pressure of the battery rises to a certain value, the aluminum plate is disconnected from the designed groove position to prevent the battery from expanding further and causing an explosion. Therefore, the process is extremely strict for the laser welding process, requires welding sealing, and the weld is greater than the breaking pressure of the aluminum plate groove position.

Laser application

Explosion-proof valve welding with continuous laser and pulsed laser welding. Explosion-proof valves can be pulsed laser and continuous laser welding. Pulsed laser welding mainly realizes continuous sealing welding by overlapping and covering solder joints and solder joints. The welding efficiency is relatively low, and the sealing performance is poor (pulsed laser welding of explosion-proof valves may cause cracks in the case of improper parameter adjustment). Continuous laser welding requires high assembly accuracy, but can guarantee high-speed, high-quality welding, welding stability, welding efficiency and yield. For example, the 25mm×15mm explosion-proof valve diaphragm welded with 300W pulsed laser takes more than 10 seconds, while the welding with 1000W single-mode fiber laser takes less than 2 seconds, and the efficiency is greatly improved.
